Born and raised in New York City, Gabriela Trabazo Nunez brings a diverse and dynamic background to her practice in criminal defense. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Minor in Spanish from Queens College, City University of New York in 2012, where she was honored with the prestigious Peter F. Vallone Scholarship for high academic achievement.
Gabriela continued her education at Ave Maria School of Law in Naples, Florida, where she earned her Juris Doctor in May 2018. During law school, she made the Dean’s List and gained valuable experience as a law clerk at The Law Office of Shannon McFee. There, she sharpened her skills in legal research, drafting motions and observing several jury trials. Additionally, while in Law School, Gabriela studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain, further strengthening her fluency in Spanish and enhancing her global perspective.
After passing the Florida Bar, Gabriela began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit, where she represented indigent clients in criminal cases, including thirteen jury trials. She gained significant experience in researching and litigating motions to dismiss, motions to suppress, and motions in limine, while practicing before five different County Court Judges. Her strong negotiation skills allowed her to secure favorable plea offers for her clients, reflecting her commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes.
In 2020, Gabriela expanded her legal experience by joining the law firm of Wicker Smith, where she worked in civil litigation, primarily in the space of Insurance Defense. Gabriela’s experience in Civil Litigation has allowed her to transition flawlessly into the area of Personal Injury and Hurricane Claims, where she now represents the injured and those fighting the insurance company. With a deep commitment to justice, a track record of successful trial experience, and a strong ability to communicate in both English and Spanish, Gabriela is dedicated to providing her clients with zealous, compassionate representation at every stage of litigation.
